Prices are current online estimates; the final price is confirmed at drop-off, and any deposit goes toward it. Screens, charging ports, keyboards, hinges, and batteries are quoted after the evaluation, before any repair work starts.

How it works

1. Book a diagnostic or send a requestPick your laptop brand and model online and choose an appointment. For a screen, charging port, keyboard, hinge, or battery, send a request with the brand and the model number.
2. Bring the laptop and its chargerCome to the shop at your appointment time. We confirm the price at drop-off.
3. We find the faultWe tell you what failed and what the repair costs. You approve the repair first, and the diagnostic fee is deducted from the final repair price.
4. Repair and pickupWe do the repair at our Berkeley shop and contact you when the laptop is ready.

Common questions

My laptop won't turn on. Can you fix it?

Often, yes. The cause can be the charger, the charging port, the battery, or a power fault on the motherboard. The diagnostic finds which one. We repair power faults at board level, and if the board cannot be repaired, we tell you.

My laptop won't charge, or the plug is loose. Is it the charging port?

Often. On many laptops the DC jack or USB-C charging port is soldered to the motherboard, so the repair is board-level solder work and not a simple part swap. Send a request with the brand and the model number, and we quote it after the evaluation.

My laptop runs hot, or the fan is loud. What helps?

Dust in the fans and the heatsink is a common cause. Cleaning is bookable online for the models that show it in the booking flow. For other models, book the diagnostic and we check the cooling system.

My laptop won't boot and I need my files. What about my data?

Tell us when you book. We get your files off first and talk about the repair second. Our data recovery page explains the data-first process.
