How it works

  1. Book a timePick your MacBook model and the repair online, then choose an appointment. Not sure what failed? Book the diagnostic.
  2. Bring the MacBook inCome to the shop at your appointment time with the MacBook and its charger. We confirm the final price at drop-off.
  3. Diagnosis and repairWe do the repair at our Berkeley shop. After a diagnostic, we tell you the fault and the repair price, and you approve it before the repair starts.
  4. Pickup and checkWe contact you when the MacBook is ready, and you check the repair with us at pickup.

Before you come in

  • Back up the MacBook if it still turns on.
  • After a spill: power it off, unplug the charger, and do not turn it on to check. Do not charge it, and skip the rice.
  • Find your model in Apple menu > About This Mac, or read the model number (A and four digits) on the bottom case. The price depends on the model.

Common questions

How much does a MacBook screen replacement cost?
It depends on the model. The lowest current price is listed above. Pick your MacBook in the booking flow to see the current price for your model. If your model has no screen price online, send a request and we quote it. The final price is confirmed at drop-off.
I spilled liquid on my MacBook. What should I do?
Turn it off, unplug the charger, and do not charge it or turn it on to check. Book the earliest slot you can. Liquid damage is a race against corrosion. We clean the board and get your data first, then talk about the repair.
Apple quoted a very high price, or said the logic board must be replaced. Can you fix it?
Often, yes. We are an independent repair shop, and we repair logic boards at component level instead of replacing the whole board. The diagnostic finds the failed part, and you get the repair price before any repair work starts. If the board cannot be repaired, we tell you.
My battery says Service Recommended. Do I need a new battery?
Service Recommended means the battery holds much less charge than when it was new, or it is not working normally. A replacement battery is the fix. If the trackpad or the bottom case bulges, the battery is swollen: stop charging the MacBook and book the earliest slot.
Is my data safe during a repair?
A screen, battery, keyboard, or charging port repair does not touch your storage. Back up first if the MacBook turns on, because no repair process can guarantee against data loss. If it will not turn on and you need the files, tell us: we get the data first. Our data recovery page explains that process.
