Electronics repair FAQ

Practical answers for planning a repair at our Berkeley shop. Your live estimate, parts status, and appointment options appear during booking.

How long do common repairs take?

Many screen and battery repairs can be completed the same day when the needed part and a technician are available. Charging-port, liquid-damage, data-recovery, and board-level work may need diagnosis or ordered parts before we can confirm timing.

Do you use OEM or aftermarket parts?

Part options vary by device and availability. We explain the available part grade and price before work is approved, and we do not represent an aftermarket part as an original manufacturer part.

What warranty comes with a repair?

Any repair warranty and its length are stated on the receipt, invoice, work order, or written warranty terms for that job. Physical or liquid damage, misuse, tampering, unrelated failures, software issues, and customer-supplied parts are not covered unless the written terms say otherwise.

How do you protect my data and privacy?

Back up your device when possible and remove information you do not want present during service. We access only what is reasonably needed to diagnose or verify the repair, but no repair process can guarantee against data loss, so a current backup matters.

Can I walk in, or do I need an appointment?

Appointments are recommended so we can reserve an intake time and check parts. Choose a live opening online; custom requests and jobs with unavailable parts receive staff review before confirmation.

Is there a deposit or bench fee?

The booking flow shows the applicable non-refundable deposit or bench fee before checkout. When charged, it is credited toward the approved repair total; custom requests are reviewed before a payment link is sent.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Online and in-store card payment is available through Square, and staff can record cash at the shop. The available checkout method is shown when your booking or invoice is ready for payment.

Which areas do you serve?

The shop is at 2387 Telegraph Ave in Berkeley and regularly serves customers from Berkeley, Oakland, Emeryville, and San Francisco and the wider Bay Area.
